Croatian clarinetist Marko Zavišić is recognized as one of the most active clarinetists of his generation. He began his musical journey in Opuzen, after which he moved to Zagreb to continue his education at the Vatroslav Lisinski School of Music, and then at the Academy of Music in Zagreb (in the class of Prof. Davor Reba). In the meantime, he also studied at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana (in the class of Prof. Tadej Kenig). He also participated in numerous master classes with renowned musicians and clarinetists, as well as in Croatian and international competitions where he achieved notable results.
He is the winner of numerous awards at music competitions in the clarinet and chamber music categories He is also the winner of three special rector's awards for his participation in the projects of the Music Academy in Zagreb.
He had his first major performance with an orchestra at the age of sixteen with the school Symphony Orchestra, with which he performed Mozart's Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra in A major, KV. 622 in Zagreb and Verona (Italy). Since then, he has performed as a soloist with the Zagreb Youth Orchestra, the Croatian Chamber Orchestra, the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra and the Mostar Symphony Orchestra. In addition to concerts on domestic stages, he also held a series of concerts abroad (Slovenia, Italy, Hungary, Tunisia, Jordan, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc.).
In his work, he collaborated with numerous composers (Tomislav Oliver, Gordan Tudor, Emil Cossetto, Luka Marohnić, Dalibor Đukić) performing works written for clarinet.
He is also successfully engaged in pedagogical work as a clarinet teacher at the Franjo Lučić Art School in Velika Gorica, where he and his students have won numerous awards at competitions in the country and abroad.
He was a member of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra in the 2021/2022 season, as well as one of the founders of the Max Bruch Trio, with which he continues to perform regularly. Finally, he is a mentor in the Zagreb Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (an orchestra of young talents organized by the Croatian Musical Youth).
